Here’s why “AI” is going to replace your job.
The job was never about you driving the vehicle. The job was someone or something that that needed to get from one place to another.
The moment someone else can move things from A to B faster, cheaper, or safer, you aren’t needed anymore.
Right now, self-driving vehicles are not as safe as human drivers. They certainly aren’t as cheap.
But there will probably be a time in the near future when self-driving cars are safer and cheaper. There will be a phase-in period for autonomous vehicles and a phase-out period for humans, but the tipping point will be all about the economics.
Same can be said for any basic job. The moment a machine can do it better, faster, or cheaper, demand will begin to shift.
